How It Works

1. Become a Seeker

Getting started is easy—and it's completely FREE! Simply create your free 3dOkieDrops account and open the interactive map. The map displays active drops hidden throughout your area by our volunteer Print Masters and Drop Masters.

Each drop pin represents a real 3D-printed treasure waiting to be discovered.

Free Membership Includes

Your FREE membership gives you everything you need to join the adventure:

• Unlimited access to the 3dOkieDrops map
• Hunt and find hidden drops
• Scan QR codes to record your finds
• Track your personal collection
• Share your finds and adventures with the community
• Participate in special events and seasonal hunts
• Join thousands of seekers spreading kindness throughout the community

There is never a charge to hunt drops.

Want to Enhance Your Adventure?

For those looking for a little extra excitement, we also offer an optional Paid Membership. Paid Members receive exclusive features designed to enhance the hunting experience, including:

• Instant Drop Access – See new drops immediately after they're placed.
• Text Message Alerts – Receive text notifications when new drops are hidden near you.
• Seeker Radar – See nearby seekers to help determine how active an area is while you're hunting.
• Monthly Exclusive Drop – Receive a unique, members-only Drop of the Month mailed directly to your home or pick it up at the 3dOkieDrops Drop Shop.
• Future Premium Features – As new features are developed, Paid Members will receive access when available.

The optional Paid Membership helps support the costs of operating 3dOkieDrops while keeping the hunt FREE for everyone.

2. Choose a Drop

Browse the map and select a drop you'd like to hunt. Each drop listing may include:

• Approximate location
• Date and time it was placed
• Helpful hints (when provided)
• Difficulty level
• Drop status

Choose a location that looks fun, grab your family or friends, and start your adventure!

3. Find the Drop

Once you arrive near the location, begin searching. Drops may be hidden in safe public places such as:

• Parks
• Walking trails
• Around trees
• Near signs
• Under benches
• Along fences
• Near landmarks
• Other approved public locations

The adventure is in the hunt!

Please respect public property, obey all local laws, and never enter restricted or private property while searching.

4. Scan the QR Code

Congratulations—you found a drop! Every official 3dOkieDrops drop includes a unique QR code. Using your phone, scan the QR code immediately after finding the drop.

Scanning your drop is one of the most important parts of the entire experience because it:

• Records your find
• Updates the map
• Removes the drop from the active hunt
• Tracks your personal finds
• Helps keep the map accurate for everyone

Please do not skip this step.

When a drop isn't scanned, other seekers may spend valuable time and fuel searching for a drop that has already been found.

By scanning every drop you help keep the game fair, fun, and enjoyable for everyone.

5. Take a Picture

Now it's time to celebrate your find! Take a picture with your new drop. Whether it's:

• A selfie
• Your family
• Your kids
• Your pets
• The scenery
• Your new 3D print

Every picture tells the story of another adventure.

6. Share Your Adventure

Sharing your adventure is one of the best parts of the community. Post your picture in the 3dOkieDrops Facebook Group or through the app and tell everyone about your experience. Tell us things like:

• Where you explored
• Who hunted with you
• Funny moments
• Challenges you encountered
• Why you enjoyed the adventure

Your stories encourage others to get outside and create memories of their own.

7. Pocket It… or Relocate It

Once you've scanned your drop, you have two choices.

Keep It

Many seekers enjoy collecting their drops as souvenirs of their adventures. Each one becomes part of a growing collection and a reminder of the memories made while finding it.

Relocate It

Want to keep the adventure alive? Take your drop to another safe public location and hide it for someone else to discover. Then simply scan the drop again to relocate it.

The system will update the map and begin a brand-new adventure for the next seeker. Every relocation helps spread kindness a little farther.

8. Hunt Again!

There are always more adventures waiting. Volunteer Print Masters and Drop Masters are constantly creating and hiding new drops throughout the community. Open the map, choose another location, and begin your next hunt.

Every drop is different. Every hunt creates a new memory. Every adventure helps spread kindness.

Hunting Etiquette

To help keep 3dOkieDrops fun for everyone:

• Always scan every drop you find.
• Respect parks, trails, and public property.
• Never damage property while searching.
• Never search on private property without permission.
• Be courteous to others using the area.
• Help keep parks and trails clean.
• If you discover a damaged drop or QR code, report it through the app.

Remember… the goal isn't simply to find a free 3D print.

The goal is to spend time with family, explore your community, enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, and spread kindness one adventure at a time.
